about me

  • Hi, my name is Helena Andrejko and I’m a PACFA registered Sydney counsellor, psychotherapist and psychedelic assisted therapist with six years of experience, specializing in helping individuals with complex trauma and those seeking deeper meaning in their lives.

  • I also work as a couples therapist, helping couples improve communication and rebuild trust after betrayal.

  • I have a post-graduate diploma in Psychosynthesis counselling from the Psychosynthesis Trust/Middlesex University (UK), accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I also hold BSc and MSc degrees in social anthropology from the West Bohemia University (Czech Republic).

  • Prior to my career in therapy, I worked in Change Management delivering tech transformations in FTSE 100 companies.

approach

  • My approach is integrative, informed by psychosynthesis, analytical psychology, the latest insights from neuroscience, particularly Friston's free energy principle, which emphasizes the brain’s role in navigating complexity and uncertainty. I like to explore the connections between therapy, the principle of decentralisation, and the mind. I aim to create a space where clients can not only heal but also gain a deeper understanding of their relationship with power—both within themselves and in the wider world.

  • More about the principles of decentralisation best embodied by the Bitcoin network reflected in the therapeutic process in section Decentralised Mind.

what is psychosynthesis

  • Psychosynthesis, founded by Roberto Assagioli, is an integrative, open therapeutic approach that allows me to blend various modalities, drawing from both modern psychology and spiritual traditions. Rooted in Buddhist principles and closely aligned with Jungian analytical therapy, it emphasizes working with the unconscious mind to uncover deep patterns shaped by our environment. A holistic, transpersonal and humanistic approach helps my clients in exploring their inner world, facilitating self-awareness and personal growth.

what is the difference between a psychotherapist and a psychologist in Australia

Counsellor/PsychotherapistPsychologist
Has to undergo personal therapy as part of their training to better understand their own emotional processes. This encourages a more holistic approach and development of a deeper empathy and emotional attunement with their clients. Importantly, this (on an unconscious level) promotes a less hierarchical relationship between the therapist and the person in therapy ultimately leading to client's empowerment.Does not have to undergo personal therapy as part of their training. This disconnect from personal therapy can reinforce the top-down, centralised model, where psychologists function as the "experts" but may not engage deeply with their own emotional experiences in a therapeutic context. Their education is typically more academic and research-driven, focusing on clinical assessments, diagnostics, and evidence-based interventions.
Employs a wider range of therapeutic modalities, including more holistic or person-centred approaches.Focus on evidence-based, often medically-oriented treatments. They follow specific theoretical frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or psychometric testing.
Operates with less authority in the formal healthcare system. Counsellor is more accessible in community settings, offering support for a broad range of emotional and psychological issues without the heavy diagnostic focus of psychologists.Psychologists are often seen as having greater authority in the mental health system. They can diagnose and treat mental illnesses, prescribe certain interventions, and are often involved in institutional settings like hospitals and schools.

decent mind

  • Decent (in other words, Decentralised) Mind is inspired by the concept of the decentralised Bitcoin network, reflecting the process of freeing ourselves from conditioning and unhealthy patterns that control our lives. Just as Bitcoin challenges centralised power, therapy helps us reclaim autonomy by organising our experiences around present reality rather than past conditioning. This phenomenon of decentralisation appears across meditation, revolution, art, therapy/psychedelic therapy—wherever there is a movement toward true freedom and self-emancipation.
